The Survivor Know-It-Alls Recap Episode 8 of Survivor: Ghost Island
LIVE after the eastern broadcast of Survivor 36: Ghost Island, Rob Cesternino & Stephen Fishbach recap this 8th episode and answer your questions!
Chris Did Not Make One Correct Decision
The ballad of Chris Noble at the Ghost Island merge ended up becoming one of the best episodes in a number of years according to Rob. Stephen even pointed out that Chris literally made every single decision incorrectly. Even though he did not receive any votes, Rob added that Domenick made the right decision playing his Legacy Advantage, given the danger he was in.
Pushing the Fight to Later or Pretending It Will Never Happen
Stephen said that he really liked Domenick’s pitch to Chris to take out one of the Malolo now and fight later, but Rob thinks that he should’ve offered to let bygones be bygones. However, Stephen and Rob both agreed with that Chris’ response to Domenick was a very bad decision.
Were the Votes for Libby a Backup Plan or Not?
Stephen thought that it might have actually been smarter for most of the people in the game to keep Chris over Domenick due to his straightforwardness and apparent lack of advantages. Rob, on the other hand, thought it was better for at least the Malolo 5 to keep Domenick, who was more willing to work with them. Stephen and Rob agreed that Desiree and Angela were most likely voting for Libby as the backup plan, had Chris played his idol, and were not on the outs. Rob and Stephen also liked Kellyn’s move winning immunity, given the uncertainty of the first merge vote.
Giving the Fishy to the Umpires and the Groundskeeper
Rob and Stephen actually really liked Chris getting a random buff and his secret night trip to Ghost Island, as well as his game to extend the life of the idol. Stephen found it funny how him getting his idol’s power extended a week cost Chris. Rob added that Wendell’s voting confessional was the best in the last five years. Stephen gave the Fishy to Domenick and Wendell for keeping each other sane and getting Chris out. Rob joked that Stephen giving out the Fishy to the producers is like SportsCenter making the umpires or the groundskeeper the star of the night. Stephen also added that he loved Domenick’s move to pull out his fake idol to show the others that it was fake.
What Did the Listeners Have to Say?
When asked about whether Michael is the big winner of the night, Rob and Stephen agreed that he is in a great position. Rob said that he thinks Sebastian will be on the outs next week and sent home, but Stephen thinks Libby will go from plan B to plan A.
As for Donathan telling Domenick to not trust Jenna and Libby, Rob does not think that it will mean that the Malolo 5 will crack soon.
They realized that Chris made history as the first player in Survivor history to be voted out while never casting a vote.
Stephen also thought that Domenick showing his fake idol potentially had a small factor in people voting for Chris over him.
