Winner of Survivor: Redemption Island (Season 22): Boston Rob Mariano
“Boston” Rob Mariano was named the winner of Survivor: Redemption Island (Season 22) during the finale on May 15, 2011. He defeated runners-up Phillip Sheppard and Natalie Tenerelli by a vote of 8-1-0. At the time of his win, Boston Rob was a 34-year-old aspiring poker player from Pensacola, Florida. Boston Rob had control of the game from the start this season, helping create a “buddy system” with his alliance so that no one could plan to vote him out. Boston Rob is the first person to ever play Survivor four times.
In addition to Survivor: Redemption Island, Boston Rob first competed on Survivor: Marquesas (Season 4). He was voted out on Day 21, finishing in 10th place.
Then, Rob competed on Survivor: All-Stars (Season 8). He made it all the way to day 39, losing in the Final Tribal Council and finishing in 2nd place.
Twelve seasons later, Rob competed on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains (Season 20) where he lasted 18 days and came in 13th place.
Boston Rob also returned to Survivor: Island of the Idols (Season 39) as a mentor.
