RHAP Big Brother Power Rankings: Week 5
The BattleBack has been battled and Cody has made his way back into the house. The game has slowed back down a bit as everybody adjusts to the reuniting of #Jody. Most houseguests have been spending their time planning for the coming weeks now that the game has been reshuffled. Last week, Dominique the Dominator was sent packing after her talk show was permanently cancelled. It remains to be seen if the network picks it back up with a new host, but The Dominique Show’s fanbase was nowhere near as large as Big Brother Canada‘s, so it doesn’t seem likely.
Dominique: It’s really painful to watch players who have no fight. Whether that’s on casting or the players themselves, I’m not sure, but watching players like Dominique sit in a room isolated for an entire week instead of campaigning to get votes to stay is infuriating. Dominique showed potential early on, but once Big Brother got too hard for her, she had no problem throwing in the towel. All along, it’s felt like she was only there because she wanted the exposure. I don’t expect everybody who makes it on the show to be a superfan, or even a fan, but once you’re in the house, I would like to see you play the game rather than creating your own talk show to ensure the spotlight is aimed directly on you at all times.

1) Paul

I’ve been hesitating each week so far to give Paul the top spot. When your #1 enemy re-enters the house, his girlfriend wins HoH and PoV, and you potentially have the votes to evict one of her nominations who happens to be one of your biggest targets, you earn enough credit to be ranked #1. The tables could turn on Paul at any moment, but it doesn’t seem likely to happen too soon.

1) Jessica
Girl has the power this week, and with the Halting Hex in her back pocket, she and her main squeeze aren’t going anywhere next week either… even if one of them breaks a bone and needs surgery as the precedence has been set there. Jessica seems to understand the mistakes she’s made and has been rectifying them. And, Cody says he is going to listen to Jessica and do what she says.

2) Elena 
1
A lot of players are catching on to how smart Elena is and how well she’s playing; she’s been identified multiple times as a threat to take the whole thing, but that doesn’t mean anybody is going to throw his or her current plans out the window just to take Elena out. Paul’s newest voting block members are all looking at Elena and Mark as big threats, but the game completely changes with each new HoH, and I have confidence in Elena slipping by regardless of who wins in the coming weeks.

2) Christmas
Christmas was in some hot water a couple weeks ago, but she’s seemed to have recovered quite nicely. She proved to her alliance that even though she’s currently living life on one leg, that she isn’t dead weight by lasting more than a minute in the last HoH comp, unlike the rest of them. She’s on Cody and Jessica’s good side and hasn’t been pissing people off lately.

3) Jason 1
Jason’s been improving each week. Every season, there’s a player who I start the game off not liking at all based off of pre-season content and usually their unimpressive first few weeks in the house. Then as the game goes on, I realize they aren’t so bad. Recent examples include Bridgette from BB18 and William from BBCAN5. Now, from BB19, we have Jason.
Jason is making friends with everybody and although a few weeks ago it looked like he may have been the biggest target of the outsiders, he’s worked his way into a comfortable middle space and is generally off the radar.

3) Jason
No one is threatened by Jason, which works in his favour. Like Christmas, he’s on the good side of most of the house and will be able to slide through at least a few more weeks.

4) Jessica 5
Ian was onto something last week, ranking Jess at #2. Jess and Cody are almost guaranteed jury (barring an effect of the curse we still know nothing about). Neither of them is going home this week and if either or both are on the block next week, Jess will use the Halting Hex to cancel the eviction. Her nominations this week seem pretty damn weak, especially if we’re about to lose Ramses, someone who was never coming after #Jody. It’s a tough spot to be in because Jess and Cody are probably still the biggest targets in the house no matter whom she nominated this week. It seems Cody coming back into the house was bad for Jess’ game, but perhaps it’ll actually help her to have that meat shield back in front of her. If the house hated her enough to send her home, they would’ve done it last week.

4) Paul
I truly cannot believe that even though this is Paul’s first week without safety that he was barely considered to go up on the block. Most people think Paul is on their side and are working to protect him. He was unanimously voted by his fellow houseguests to face off against the potential returnee in the battle back and that really says something.

5) Christmas 2
Hey, nice scooter! I’m not sure how much it’ll help when you’re swinging on a jungle vine crashing into a wall over and over during part one of the final 3 HoH, but it’s nice to have for moving around the house. Christmas has gone completely under the radar. Jess and Cody want to work with her. Her alliance still has her back. If she can avoid a Mark HoH win next week, she’s got nothing to worry about. Keep on rolling, girl, you’re doing fine.

5) Raven
She may be losing favour outside of the house, but Raven’s position within it is still pretty solid. She is in the least-threatening showmance and people like being around her.

6) Kevin
SORRY, I LOVE KEVIN, OKAY. He’s smarter than his houseguests think he is and he is able to really play up the ‘fun old guy’. Will it be a winning game for him? Probably not, but he’s already $25,027 richer and he’s definitely going to make it to the finale.

7) Matt 1
Nothing has changed in Matt’s game. His game, his relationships, his wardrobe… all have remained pretty constant for the first few weeks of the season. Eyes were starting to shift to Matt and Raven, but Cody coming back into the house removes the bullseye on #Maven and heavily shifts it to #Jody. Matt’s got nothing to worry about for a little while.
And stop calling him a boring flop, people! Since when is laying low a bad strategy!?

7) Alex
Alex has game in her. Too bad it’s not a good game. She seems to have a strange perception of the game and how it’s unfolding around her. If she takes a couple steps back and lets other people fight it out she can stay safe for a couple more weeks.

8) Alex 5
Still Not Causing Any Waves, but Still Not Making Any Progress: the story of Alex Ow. Alex is heavily relying on her “secret” alliance with Paul and her partnership with Jason to get her through this game. Ramses, who started off the game on Alex’s side (and you’d imagine the two of them should really have linked up to work together), is probably heading home this week. Meanwhile, Cody, the guy who has tons of respect for her a few weeks ago, was totally fine with Jess re-nominating her and possibly losing her from the game this week. Plus, Paul is using Alex just as much as he’s using Josh, which is not a good look for either of them.

8) Elena
I like Elena a lot. She just doesn’t seem to be doing much game-wise. She seemingly has a pretty solid social game, but I don’t know if that’s going to matter much to her other houseguests down the stretch. If she can pull out a veto win in the next few weeks, she might be able to up her ranking.

9) Kevin 1
Yep. Still here. Cody coming back into the house really helped a lot of people’s games by pushing them back down below the radar and Kevin was definitely one of them. In a small way, it perhaps wasn’t helpful to Kevin, because Cody and Jess are totally onto him and his voting pattern from the first few evictions. But he shouldn’t need to worry too much, because Cody and Jess still have a handful of bigger targets to consider before they make it down the list and land on Kevin. Plus, Jess shared with him all of the information of the Halting Hex. Whether that was a test or not remains to be seen, but it’s still information Kevin now has that he can use to his advantage.

10) Mark 5
You in trouuubblle. I’m not exactly sure why, but Paul is giving Mark the Ramses treatment. Remember two weeks ago when Paul threw Ramses’ name out to everyone to plant the seed that Ramses is a snake and has to go because he’s a big threat? Paul’s been doing that with Mark’s name lately.
Ramses may go home this week. So, Mark, you’d better watch your back and catch Paul before this anti-Mark sentiment spreads like wildfire. Being the big guy you are, you won’t have anywhere to hide.

10) Mark
I like Mark! I want him to do so well! But he just keeps getting in his own way by letting his heart lead his game, and that gets him in trouble– i.e. his fight with Josh, him crying over Dominique, him losing it with Cody. Reel it in, honey.

11) Cody
Welcome back! So while you were gone, the house evicted somebody you could’ve potentially worked with. But don’t worry, your girlfriend won HoH this week. Her nominations weren’t bad; they were Josh and…… somebody else you could’ve potentially worked with, Ramses. Oops. But don’t worry! No chance he goes home.
Well actually, yeah, he’s probably going home. And also, the whole house still really wants you gone… which you probably already know because of how the HoH comp went. So yeah, have fun and enjoy your second shot!

He made his way back in the house, his gf is HoH and the holder of the Halting Hex, but Cody just doesn’t have the ability to make it super far into this game. The damage to his game has already been done.

If I hear the word meatballs one more time Josh, I’m kicking you off the rankings. We’re not making this a new thing. Please.
To be fair, Josh is still entertaining as hell. He’s one of the most entertaining players in there, but his social game is (*Josh voice*) plooooooop (*thumbs down*). He can’t let go of the Mark thing, he’s antagonized his way right onto the block, and he’s only potentially safe this week because of Jess’ terrible choice in pawns. I don’t think Robyn Kass picked him to be the strategic powerhouse of the season, but give me something to work with here!

12) Ramses
He has no allies, he’s on the block, and he doesn’t seem to be physically adept. He should be someone that the house would want to keep around, but he has gotten the reputation as a snake in the house and his time in the house is nearing its end.

13) Ramses 1
Dude, come on. How are you a superfan of Big Brother and your only effort in trying to get off the block is one small conversation with the HoH (who was likely to be very easily persuaded into taking you down)!? Now the votes are stacking up against you because we’re five weeks into this game and you still have no friends besides the girl who was evicted week two.
Ramses said a few weeks ago that he thought of his game like Gary’s from BBCAN1. No. Gary may not have had a core group of allies, but he did have a social game. Ramses has nothing.
