Big Brother Canada 10 Preseason Player Rankings
A classic tradition I simply could not imagine living without: ranking the Big Brother Canada players before a new season. These rankings are always a fun way to kick off the new season and I’m very excited to bring in your favorite and mine, Lovina Pavel, to help rank the 16 newbies ready to compete on BBCAN10!
If you’re new here, you should know I pride myself on my BBCAN predictions. BBCAN6 was perhaps the most impressive showing. Nailed the Anthony Douglas pick on BBCAN7 when all others doubted the guy. Nailed the Tychon pick last year with Jedson right behind him in spot #2. So there’s a lot riding on me getting these right! (Not really.)

16. Stephanie
A big personality and incredible TV. Whatever point of the season she flames out, she’ll burn bright and make sure to stir up the entire house on her way out. It’s tough to see Stephanie having the killer drive to win the game, but a legend in the making? I could see it.

16. Hermon
This makes me so sad… but I think our guy Hermon is going to come off a little too strong to the other houseguests. Is it the thirst? Or is it the wannabe villain arc? Time will tell and I hope I’m wrong because I love villains that own that they’re a villain… hi Anthony Douglas.

15. Hermon
Hermon will be a target by week 4 the latest. He’ll be a big player and have his people gathered up in no time, but how quickly will those people turn on him? He’s a top candidate for an early-season HoH and I can’t help but feel that’ll draw way more attention on him than he should hope for.

15. Kevin
This guy cracks me up, but I unfortunately think he stands out a little TOO much with the superfan energy. His pregame plans to lie and wreak havoc in the house have me a little on edge.

14. Kevin
This man is on another planet and I’m here for it. He’s embracing the villainous side which could be fun, but oh man… is he going out week 1, 2, 3, or 4? His only hope is to be the “oh we can get him out anytime” guy, surviving a few rounds while louder and bigger targets get taken out?

14. Marty
BBCAN as of recently has seen older houseguests make it further, but I do fear that this curse might be back in action and make Marty an early boot this season.. Looking at the personalities of the rest of the cast, I’m not entirely sure he will have much to connect to with them. Prove me wrong!

13. Betty
Betty will have nowhere to hide in that house as a very obviously intelligent and observant person. She’s high energy and will probably provide a lot of fun times within the house, but gameplay wise I’m not sure I see long-term success. Would be nice though, she seems like such a joy.

13. Moose
Voted ‘Most Likely To Put a Plague on the House”?! I’ll say this – he’s no Maki, but honestly, does Moose even know where he is? He could be fooling us all with his pregame interviews, and I DO think there is a good chance he blossoms into a social butterfly the second he walks into the house. Of the personalities, I will say, he’s in my top 3 favorites!

12. Moose
Moose says nobody can be a bigger personality than him and I’m inclined to agree. Being overly-likable is an easy out for someone to target you. It’s the unpredictability… someone you may not be able to control as you’d like to. Ideally, you want to blend in and not stand out in a Big Brother house, and Moose does not seem like the type of person who can blend in, but he’s still very likable and that could be enough. I see some Arlie here.

12. Haleena
Gorgeous, funny and has a great personality, but I just don’t know if I see it in her to cut someone when she needs to. I also see her winning HoH, but letting someone else tell her how to run it. She could coast though…

11. Tynesha
One of the most likable personalities in this group. Tynesha thinks she may end up the mom of the house, but that won’t bother these people. It’ll be welcome to feel like someone is there taking care of you when that someone is not also a cutthroat type player you need to look out for. How useful she is to their games… that’s another story.

11. Stephanie
Seems like a sweet girl, but I didn’t get much from her pregame bios and content. I could see her getting into a showmance, which could either help her or take her super far. (We’ve seen both on BBCAN.)

10. Jay
Jay is going to be such a joy to watch. They seem like someone who can light up a room and that kind of energy is always welcomed. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about how the sparkle that makes them so enjoyable could also be something that puts a target on their back. Likable people can go far, but overly-likable people are easy targets once on the block.

10. Betty
Spicy V? The personalities are nearly a perfect match! And as much as we loved Victoria for the good TV, I’m not sure if Betty is going to be a strategic mastermind either. She WILL be giving us fun feeds and a fire social game though!

9. Melina
I’m so torn on Melina. My reservations come from her saying she’ll clash with most personalities and that everyone annoys her. But she has that killer instinct I look for. I’m just unsure if I really see her consistently working to ensure her position in the house is the best it can be, or if she’ll be too annoyed with certain houseguests and it blocks her from playing a full complete game.

9. Kyle
OUR KYLE!!! I knew I was going to put him in about the middle. A lot of people think he has an advantage going into the house, but I really think the playing field is even! I’m not sure if he is going to be as cut throat as we want him to be, but I think he’ll have no issues making friends in the house.

8. Summer
Love her. She’s just got a very positive cheery energy. I hear her talk about her pettiness and who she might not get along with but I feel like I see through her enough to know she can keep that all under control. She’s too much fun to home early, so I’ll remain hopeful she can go far.

8. Jacey-Lynne
Beth, is that you? A lot of JL’s pregame stuff was about showmances which is never a great way to get to know a new houseguest. However, I could see her being a vixen or actually getting into a showmance but end up being passive. Hope it’s not the latter, but time will tell!

7. Marty
Aside from great DRs, I think Marty will avoid the block and make plenty of friends in the house. He seems very charming. Usually I worry about older houseguests in the end game, but Marty seems fit and intelligent and I can’t say I have that concern here. Upside of (hear me out) Jon Pardy.

7. Gino
I’m ranking Gino here because he reminds me a lot of Jedson. He’s going to win a lot of competitions, but I do fear he will be seen as a massive threat because of that. He seems very charming, so I don’t see him having any issues with anybody.

6. Jacey-Lynne
Longevity shouldn’t be a problem for Jacey-Lynne if she can play it cool for a few weeks to get herself some footing. It’s seems like she knows the game well enough. She’s down for a showmance and showmances work in BBCAN, so who’s to say it won’t carry her deep into the game? There could be some Kaela or Jillian potential here.

6. Josh
I think Josh seems self-aware and very adaptable. He’s bubbly and has a super infectious personality judging off the sparse content we got. I can see him being the head of a powerful alliance. My only worry is being SEEN as the head of said powerful alliance…

5. Jessica
Knowing the game, being a superfan, and having a cool head will all work in Jessica’s favor. Jessica is out in these BB streets so I hope they team up with Kyle, because you know they’ll recognize him and I’d love that duo. So long as Jessica doesn’t randomly make any major enemies, I see no reason why they won’t make jury and have a shot to win this thing.

5. Jessica
Jessica the superfan! I think the difference between them and Kevin in superfandomness (a word!) is the self awareness to keep it a little more under the radar. I definitely don’t see them making themselves a huge spectacle in the house. I see them reading the house very well and knowing where and when to place themselves. High hopes!

4. Haleena
Haleena seems great! She seems like a fun time and I can’t imagine who wouldn’t want her in their alliance. Haleena doesn’t seem like a cutthroat player but not everyone needs to be. Just make friends and make it far, win a comp or two at the end and Haleena could surely win the game. The women of this cast have some big personalities, and not to say Haleena isn’t one of them, but she stands out as the coolest head combined with natural likability.

4. Melina
I just LOVE!!!!! her. A super early favorite for me, personally. I can see her become a villainous queen ready to cut anyone, even her number one ally. I can also see her as a member of multiple alliances, floating between whoever is in power with ease. Give me Jun and Alison!

3. Josh
Doctor Josh has every skill one could ask for from a Big Brother rookie. Josh will bond with literally everyone in the house. I can’t see a world where he’s evicted for any other reason other than someone eventually realizing “wow, this guy is a huge threat.” He’ll be a big player, maybe even under the radar, and that excites me greatly. Upside of Johnny Mulder or Mitch Mofitt.

Jay. Is. INFECTIOUS. They are going to be so much fun in the house and show us how to play the perfect social game on Big Brother! I do think they are also going to be an underrated strategic mastermind. I see a potential winner on our hands!

2. Kyle
Kyle has spent the past year of his life preparing to play this game from a perspective that basically nobody ever has before. Could he have over-prepared? Sure. But from the little I’ve seen, I feel more-so like he’s ready for this. Upside of Derek Kessler or even Dane.

2. Tynesha
I think Tynesha gives us the best of both worlds. She’ll be able to connect to literally everybody in the house because I think she gives off serious, calming vibes, but also super fun and bubbly. I can also see her being the head of her alliance, but wouldn’t stand out as a threat. I’m feeling great about Tynesha!

1. Gino
A showmance is happening here. But in BBCAN those can do wonders for your game. Gino is charming, a family guy just like Tychon, and doesn’t seem like an over-the-top personality where he’ll rub anyone the wrong way. I’m not sure his level of game knowledge, but I’m willing to take the risk here. I feel a lot less confident than I did with Tychon, but I’ll blame the bigger cast size for that.

1. Summer
HI WINNER! And if not that, the star of the season is born! She’s giving fun feeds, she’s giving cut throat, she’s giving super friendly and approachable. I think miss Summer is going to be part of a powerful alliance and pull out clutch Veto wins, making her a huge asset to her team which will propel her to the end. I’ve never felt more confident in a pick!
