Today, Chappell and Jenny talk about episode 7 of The Snake.
Welcome back to We Know Reality TV for our recap of The Snake Episode 7! Hosts Jenny and Chappell were devastated by the elimination of Katherine, a “legend,” “icon,” and a “truly transcendent reality TV star”. Jenny and Chappell consider Katherine “one of the most iconic and special reality TV villains in a long time” who “thrived in villainy” and “held on to the very end”. They believe she genuinely knows she’s a villain and “did not let like her foot off the gas”. The hosts questioned if her performance was “production planned” because it seemed “almost too good to be true”. They argue “they don’t make them like her anymore” in modern competition reality TV.
The hosts discussed the “Mongoose challenge” where John won the snake after receiving an advantage from Christine. They noted John “shouldn’t have won” and his advantage was “not a great advantage”. However, John had “shooters” in Alyssa and Frankie, who eliminated half the cast, effectively carrying him to victory.
Jenny and Chappell expressed strong disagreement with John’s strategic move to eliminate Katherine, despite it being the “house target”. Chappelle argued it was a “wimpy move” that wouldn’t gain him goodwill and instead “pissed everyone off”. Jenny felt he “f**** this up” strategically, despite his “iconic” and “douchy snake” style. Both agreed John’s “unbelievably transparent” approach to gathering information made him look bad socially.
The hosts also discussed the unexpected “Cobra Cane” twist during the saving ceremony, which Jenny suspected was “pre-planned” to save a star like Katherine, though it ultimately failed to do so. They identified Derek and Frankie as having strong “winner coded” edits, with Amanda also being a potential contender due to consistent, positive content.
