I didn’t really care who Rob wanted to blindside. We’ve all seen his gameplay, so it’s not overly interesting anymore. New seasons are about seeing who rises to the top amongst the newbies. Consequently, I’m seriously disappointed in Rob’s alliance members for not being bright enough to figure out that if even ONE of them went to Matt and Andrea and Kristina to form a new alliance to Blindside ROB, they would be the power alliance going forward… and Kristine could have kept her idol for the alliance to use later after a merge! If they were voting out a strong male physical player anyway, they would have had less to fear from Matt than Rob in gamesmanship and strategy.

If I were in what looked like a strong alliance where the leader was making speeches about how we were in it together and that’s the way it was going to be…. and then he did a two step shuffle and said let’s blindside our own alliance… I would have been on the fast train to put together my own new alliance combo to blindside HIM before I was next on his chopping block. I do appreciate that more people make it further by blending into the middle of the pack; but if a golden opportunity is handed to you to oust your biggest competition and you don’t even see it, much less take it, then you really shouldn’t be there at all. Natalie, Ashley & Grant apparently don’t think fast on their feet and are comfortable being lambs led to the slaughter hoping that maybe they’ll just blend in long enough to mature into mutton.

Mmmmmmm mmmm Good! I can see Ralph enjoying snacking on some mutton.

I think Rob overreacted to the showmance. Matt was also dumped cause of the other three deciding Matt over Andrea. Philip is better for Rob cause the guy is willing to give him his first child as a sign of loyalty. Also, Grant is in in a better place with Matt gone so he may have pushed for Matt.

Russell doesn’t get along with sharing dominance … He likes using women cause he sees himself as king. It’s disgusting and shame on those 2. Liked the third one who told on him. She has real promise. This is Russell’s “game” and it’s all he knows. He is so arrogant and without merit.

He only got far in the second try but no one had seen his season. He’s a real dud this season.

I love that 2 newbies found the 2 idols.

Ralph was really brilliant to find the idol, see Russell taking the clue, and then rallying the troops to call Russell out while he’s holding he idol was beyond cool! I can’t wait till we have their first tribal!

Just commenting to say Bob Dylan is extremely versatile, and it’s hard to imagine some of his songs are by the same person. Great podcast btw. All 4 were great.

Rob and Steve, In foreign versions of survivor Redemption Island is dominated by women. I heard in the Phillipines version of Survivor, A transgendered woman dominated Redemption Island challenge after challenge.

Great podcast guys. I’m glad that I am not the only person in the world who doesn’t get the Oscar hype about The Social Network. I think it will be a great shame if it wins more awards than Inception.

I like Courtney’s approach to Philip – ”Let’s celebrate crazy.” As Stephen and Courtney were talking about |Madagascar and animals, the nickname I thought of was Silver Fishbacks – (Silver back Gorilla and Stephen’s Surname)

I can’t stand Boston Rob or Russell and hope they both got snuffed really soon. I’m sure that redemption island was made up just to keep both of them in the game longer. Snooze fest. And how fortunate for Rob that Kristina was sitting in front of him (I wonder if production had something to do with that and whether they edited out her response). I hope that someone reminds Rob about his crybabyitis moment.

Grant would have been in a MUCH better place had he been bright enough to approach Matt and Andrea about Rob’s decision to blindside Matt. The 3 could have enlisted Kristine and formed a new alliance to blindside Rob. They would have had an easy time dominating their tribe from then on.

Looks like the reason Rob went after Matt was because he’s already seen what damage a power couple can do if left unchecked, so he wanted to nip that alliance in the bud before it got too powerful…and from what I heard in the podcast, Stephen stole your long distance dedication vote off (which makes me wonder what the song would’ve been for voting Coach out)…of course Russell thinks that there’s more than one Idol, after all, Samoa was the season with the most HII’s found, and all by him

My guess on Boston Rob’s (main) strategy in voting out Matt: Alliance Trimming

Now that Ometepe consists of 7 members, the strongest long term alliance will be an alliance of 4. Provided that nobody flips at the initial 4-3 vote, an alliance of 4 allows for two further tribal councils where no member of the dominant alliance is voted out. (6-1 means one tribal before someone will be turned on).

I would say that Rob thinks it is likely he will enter the merge outnumbered, and is trying to secure a more solid, smaller alliance. All of this ignores the Redemption Island dynamic, but can you really account for that?

It’s been mentioned before but John ‘rocket scientist’ Fincher is the most pro-Russell of any Survivor and has said that Russell is the best…player…of…all…time in interviews or something to that effect. So there’s an obvious choice for a guest. A fun idea for a show would actually be a double interview John VS Laura, the most pro-Russell player vs the most anti-Russell player (John and Laura aren’t exactly the best of friends either, probably a understatement there). Guaranteed fireworks if you went that route.

ralph is in the best position right now. he has an idol, he’s well liked, and everyones underestimating him. ironic in how ralph wanted russel to share the clue with the entire tribe but at the same time he doesnt share his idol with anyone

how bout when rob told phillip to vote for whoever shoulder he puts his hand on. will this be the new way to vote someone out in the future? i mean are they gonna start playing duck duck goose now at tribal council

and everyone assumes phillip is crazy but what if in actuallity we were the crazy ones and hes the only one thats actually making sense. maybe hes using fbi tactics to embody a character that will get him to the end. question if phillip makes it to the end you have to give him the title right?
